The Flash Movie Has Been Pushed Back, Production May Start in 2019
Thanks to the lackluster response to Justice League, Warner Bros. has had to rethink its plans for the DC Extended Universe films. The Flash‘s solo movie has been one of the projects that’s suffered through several delays. It’s also lost screenwriters and directors along the way. Now, Warner Bros. is closer than even to making The Flash happen, but it’s facing another setback.
According to Variety, Warner Bros. has once again pushed back the release of The Flash in part because of scripting issues. It had been scheduled to begin filming in March 2019, but the new script isn’t finished and the studio wanted more time to get it right. Ezra Miller’s schedule is also a hurtle for this film. Miller played the Flash/Barry Allen in Justice League and briefly appeared in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. However, Miller is also playing a key role in the Fantastic Beasts franchise. He is currently slated to film the third movie in that series next summer.
Now, the earliest that The Flash movie could begin production is in late 2019, after Fantastic Beasts 3 wraps. That would leave the currently untitled film potentially set to hit theaters in 2021, but a formal release date hasn’t been set for The Flash. Spider-Man: Homecoming screenwriters John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein are directing The Flash. Kiersey Clemons was cast as Iris West in Justice League, although she was eventually cut from the film. It’s unknown if Clemons will return for The Flash, or if the character will be recast.

Across 110th Street (1972)
Across 110th Street incorporates the best aspects of a cop drama, a heist movie, and a mob movie. It’s a savage, yet wonderfully shot depiction of the racial divide in Harlem as well as an example of corruption on both the highest and lowest levels. The soundtrack and score by Bobby Womack and J.J. Johnson, respectively, make this one of the great soul records of this decade. The composition of the score is pure gritty funk, and the songs by Womack truly convey the imagery of the film: being held down by race and poverty and trying anything you can to break free. The title song was also used in the opening credits of the film Jackie Brown.
American Graffiti (1973)
Directed and co-written by George Lucas, American Graffiti is the seminal “graduation” movie, influencing many films all the way up to Can’t Hardly Wait, Superbad, and beyond. The story follows recent high school grads who spend their final night cruising around town in the summer of 1962 before they all go off to college. This soundtrack went triple platinum upon release, and might be the absolute best collection of rock and doo-wop hits from the ’50s and ’60s. At 41 tracks long, it’s one of the longest soundtracks ever released. The artists include Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Fats Domino, The Beach Boys, and many more.

The Harder They Come (1972)
The Harder They Come is a fantastic film is about a young singer with dreams of musical stardom who sadly gets involved with drugs and corruption along the way. This soundtrack is not only a great collection of reggae hits, but helped popularize the genre in America. It features many classic singles which were already hits in Jamaica, but the stand-out songs are performed by the film’s star, Jimmy Cliff. The beautiful and melodic “Many Rivers to Cross” was recently featured in Netflix’s Daredevil, and the upbeat and catchy “You Can Get It If You Really Want” has been heard in some recent tacky beer commercials (a shame, because this music deserves much better than that).
Mean Streets (1973)
Mean Streets is an early work of Martin Scorsese which, like many of his films, shows us the dynamics of crime from an insider’s point of view. It is a realistic depiction of New York wiseguy life and the trials and tribulations one debt collector must face in his criminal community. Scorsese has proven time and again that he knows how to use music in his films, and this is no exception, even if this soundtrack has never officially been released. It’s a great collection of Italian, rock, and doo-wop hits. Of course, a Scorsese movie wouldn’t be complete without a couple Rolling Stones songs, too. Saturday Night Fever (1977)
Tony Manero (John Travolta) is a young man with dreams of the future, but the only way to escape his terrible home life is to go to the only place he’s king: the club. Saturday Night Fever is the best-selling movie soundtrack of all time! It was added to the Library of Congress for its cultural significance and won six Grammys. Once you’ve heard it, you’ll understand. It completely encapsulates disco culture in less than 20 tracks. Every song is a hit, including jams from KC and the Sunshine Band, Kool and the Gang, The Trammps, and Yvonne Elliman. The stand-out is brothers Gibb band The Bee Gees, performing what would become their most recognizable songs of all time.

Shaft (1971)
Directed by Gordon Parks, the bad-ass movie Shaft concerns suave detective John Shaft, who gets hired by a local mob boss to help retrieve the boss’ kidnapped daughter only to realize there’s a lot more going on. Originally hired to write a few songs for the movie, Isaac Hayes eventually composed the entire score. This was another soundtrack added to the Library of Congress for cultural significance. While mostly composed of instrumental tracks with just three vocal songs, it’s still Isaac Hayes’ best-known work and the best-selling LP ever released under the Stax label. It’s available on Amazon. Super Fly (1972)
Directed by Gordon Parks Jr., Super Fly is an often-times silly portrayal of a cocaine dealer, Youngblood Priest, who wants to make a final score and get out of the pusher life once and for all. The film speaks of the socio-political climate of the times and part of that is due to musician Curtis Mayfield. This soundtrack is so good, it made more money than the actual film. Mayfield’s album is one of the greatest soul records of all time. The outstandingly beautiful music mixed with the socially aware lyrics created an album of pioneering significance. This soundtrack stands on its own and is, in many ways, more important than the movie.
Tommy (1975)
Tommy is a surreal, psychedelic rock opera starring The Who (among many others). It’s about a boy with psychosomatic disabilities who becomes a master pinball player and starts a new religious movement. While the film itself is based on the concept album of the same name, the soundtrack features many more artists along with The Who. The re-recorded music for the film was apparently closer to Pete Townshend’s original intent of the album. Elton John’s version of “Pinball Wizard” was a huge hit when it was released as a single.
Up In Smoke (1978)
Up In Smoke, the first cinematic outing of Cheech and Chong, is a goofy adventure about two stoners who unknowingly smuggle an entire van made of marijuana from Mexico to L.A. This soundtrack is one for the comedy album enthusiasts. It features the best quotes from the film, including the best screaming father of all time, Strother Martin. It also includes the classic hit, “Low Rider” by War, along with every goofy song performed by Cheech Marin and Tommy Chong. It’s a shame it doesn’t have the other songs from the Battle of the Bands scenes, but that is forgivable.
The Warriors (1979)
In the slick neo-noir film The Warriors, a tough New York gang is caught on the streets and framed for murder while every other gang in the city is after them. This soundtrack is a quick, fun collection of music from the film featuring Barry De Vorzon, Arnold McCuller, Mandrill, Desmond Child, and Joe Walsh. Many tracks were also re-used for the 2005 Rockstar video game based on the film. Director Walter Hill was always one for using great music in his movies, including his cult ’80s gem, Streets of Fire, which centers around a kidnapped singer.
Roadside Attractions acquires Tim Tebow’s Run the Race drama
Run the Race, executive produced by Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow and E.P. Robby Tebow, is an inspiring and uplifting film about two young brothers facing unbelievable odds with an unbreakable bond that will be released nationwide on February 22, 2019, through a distribution deal with Roadside Attractions. In Run the Race, two desperate brothers sacrifice today for a better tomorrow. Reeling from his mother’s death and his father’s abandonment, Zach, an All-State athlete, finds glory on the football field, working to earn a college scholarship in the hopes of earning he and his brother, David, a ticket out of town. But when a devastating injury sidelines Zach, David laces up his track cleats to salvage their future.
“I wanted to be part of something that’s encouraging and inspirational to the viewer. I believe Run the Race accomplishes this by showing two brothers struggling with real life, but them getting through it by supporting each other and their faith. I hope those who see it can walk away with more faith, hope, and love,” said Tim Tebow.
Run the Race stars Mykelti Williamson (Fences, Forrest Gump) as the boys’ coach, Frances Fisher (Titanic, Unforgiven) as their surrogate mother, Tanner Stine (NCIS, HBO’s Here & Now) as Zach, and Evan Hofer (Kickin’ It) as David. Supporting cast includes Kristoffer Polaha, Mario Van Peebles and Heisman Trophy winner Eddie George.
The movie is directed by Chris Dowling (Where Hope Grows) and co-written by McEntire, Dowling, and Jason Baumgardner. From Reserve Entertainment and 10th Leper Productions, the film is produced by Darren Moorman, Jake McEntire, and Ken Carpenter.
Roadside Attractions released the #1 independent film of 2018, the faith-based I Can Only Imagine, which grossed $83.5M. “I Can Only Imagine, Roadside’s highest grossing film, affirmed that inspirational, quality faith-based stories can reach a huge, highly-valued audience,” said Roadside Attractions Co-Presidents and Co-Founders Howard Cohen and Eric d’Arbeloff. “Tim and Robby Tebow are fantastic partners, and we believe their Run the Race will be embraced as enthusiastically by audiences nationwide.”
“Roadside Attractions’ experience with finding the right audiences for independent films makes them the perfect distribution partner for Run the Race,” added Executive Producer Bill Reeves of WTA Group.
Principal filming on Run the Race was in Birmingham, Alabama. In addition to Robby and Tim Tebow and Reeves, executive producers include Erik Weir, Trey Brunson, Joe Kosakowski and Erik Dellenback.
Aquaman to premiere in China two weeks ahead of US release date
Following the recent news about Crazy Rich Asians‘ release date in China, Deadline reports that Warner Bros. Pictures has set their upcoming and highly-anticipated DC superhero film Aquaman to be released in China on December 7, 2018, two weeks earlier than the US premiere date of December 21.
From Warner Bros. Pictures, DC Films, and director James Wan comes an action-packed adventure that spans the vast, visually breathtaking underwater world of the seven seas. The film, starring Jason Momoa (Justice League, Frontier) in the title role, reveals the origin story of half-human, half-Atlantean Arthur Curry and takes him on the journey of his lifetime — one that will not only force him to face who he really is, but to discover if he is worthy of who he was born to be… a king.

The movie is based on characters from DC’s Aquaman created by Paul Norris and Mort Weisinger. Rupert Gregson-Williams (Wonder Woman) will compose the music.
Monumental Pictures to develop Amy Winehouse biopic
According to The Wrap, Monumental Pictures is currently in the process of developing a biographical film based on the life of the late singer Amy Winehouse with the singer’s family officially completing a deal with the studio to executive produce the upcoming biopic. The film’s proceeds will go to the Amy Winehouse Foundation, which was created to help other people from alcohol and drug misuse and addiction.

Winehouse was a Grammy award-winning singer-songwriter best known for her distinct and soulful voice. Her second album titled Back to Black earned her five Grammy awards in 2008 which made her the first British woman to win five Grammys, including Best New Artist and Record of the Year. Almost nine years into her flourishing career, Winehouse died at the young age of 27 on July 23, 2011 due to alcohol poisoning.
“We now feel able to celebrate Amy’s extraordinary life and talent,” Amy’s father Mitch Winehouse said in a statement. “And we know through the Amy Winehouse Foundation that the true story of her illness can help so many others who might be experiencing similar issues. With Alison and Debra we have found fantastic British producers who understand what Amy meant to people, alongside an illustrious history of bringing amazing female driven stories to the big screen.”

The film will be produce by Alison Owen and Debra Hayward of Monumental Pictures with Geoff Deane to pen the biopic’s screenplay and will also serve as executive producer.
“We’re proud that Mitch Winehouse has entrusted us with the story of amazing Amy, an icon whose songs have provided the soundtrack to a generation.” Owen and Hayward added.
In 2015, A24 has produced a documentary about the ups and downs of Amy Winehouse’s success featuring unseen archive footage and previously unheard tracks. The docu film was directed by BAFTA Award-winning director Asif Kapadia.
The studio is planning to start the film’s production in 2019.
Last week, Bloody Disgusting broke the news that a Wrong Turn remake was in the works at Constantin Film. Now, Deadline has confirmed that the production company will be remaking the West Virginia cannibal franchise with original writer Alan B. McElroy returning to write the script and Mike P. Nelson set to direct.

The film series began in 2003 with a theatrical film that was a modest box office success and received generally mixed reviews, spawning a direct-to-video franchise made up of two sequels and three prequels running up to 2014 before going dormant. The films followed different families of cannibals in the West Virginia forests hunting down various people in the area.
The upcoming remake will update the time period and plot for timely purposes and to add some social context to the film. The plot, as described by Deadline, is “a cross-country hiking expedition puts a group of friends in the land of an inclusive society, where the soon discover they are under a different rule of law, and may not be the victims they throught they were.”

Prior to his work on the original film, which starred Desmond Harrington (Elementary), Eliza Dushku (Bull) and Jeremy Sisto (FBI), McElroy wrote the script for the cult classic comic book movie Spawn, as well as the animated series that preceded it, followed by the 2006 action thriller The Marine, which was the debut of John Cena in acting, and The Vampire Diaries. Nelson recently directed the post-apocalyptic horror film The Domestics starring Tyler Hoechlin (Supergirl) and Kate Bosworth (Still Alice) from Orion Pictures.
John Carpenter drops new song from new Halloween soundtrack
Ahead of the film’s theatrical release this Friday, Sacred Bones Records has dropped a brand new track titled “Halloween Triumphant” from the New Halloween Soundtrack. Composed by original Halloween director John Carpenter along with Cody Carpenter and Daniel Davies, the soundtrack for Universal Pictures and Blumhouse Productions‘ Halloween sequel is scheduled to be released on October 19. The new soundtrack pays homage to the classic Halloween score that Carpenter composed and recorded in 1978, when he forever changed the course of horror cinema and synthesizer music with his low-budget masterpiece. Several new versions of the iconic main theme serve as the pulse of Green’s film, its familiar 5/4 refrain stabbing through the soundtrack like the Shape’s knife. The rest of the soundtrack is just as enthralling, incorporating everything from atmospheric synth whooshes to eerie piano-driven pieces to skittering electronic percussion. While the new score was made with a few more resources than Carpenter’s famously shoestring original, its musical spirit was preserved.

In the film, Jamie Lee Curtis returns to her iconic role as Laurie Strode, who comes to her final confrontation with Michael Myers, the masked figure who has haunted her since she narrowly escaped his killing spree on Halloween night four decades ago. Curtis is joined in the film by Judy Greer who plays Karen Strode, the daughter of Curtis’ character, and Andi Matichak (Orange Is the New Black, Underground) who plays Allyson, the granddaughter of Laurie Strode.
The upcoming sequel film will be ignoring the continuity of all of the sequels in favor of telling its own story. Curtis previously appeared in four films in the series, including the 1978 original, its 1981 sequel, 1998’s Halloween H20: 20 Years Later, and Resurrection.

Master of horror John Carpenter will executive produce and serve as creative consultant on this film, joining forces with cinema’s current leading producer of horror, Jason Blum (Get Out, Split, The Purge, Paranormal Activity). Inspired by Carpenter’s classic, filmmakers David Gordon Green and Danny McBride crafted a story that carves a new path from the events in the landmark 1978 film. Green also directs.
Newt doesn’t want to pick sides in new Fantastic Beasts 2 TV spots
Warner Bros. Pictures has released a bunch of new TV spots for the upcoming fantasy sequel Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, highlighting the two sides that Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) must decide to choose and how Dumbledore is trying to prepare him for his impending battle. Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald is the second of five all-new adventures in J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World. The film stars Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamandar alongside returning stars Katherine Waterston, Dan Fogler, Alison Sudol, and Ezra Miller. They’re joined by Claudia Kim, Zoe Kravitz, Callum Turner, with Jude Law as Dumbledore and Johnny Depp as the titular Grindelwald.

At the end of the first film, the powerful Dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald (Depp) was captured by MACUSA (Magical Congress of the United States of America), with the help of Newt Scamander (Redmayne). But, making good on his threat, Grindelwald escaped custody and has set about gathering followers, most unsuspecting of his true agenda: to raise pure-blood wizards up to rule over all non-magical beings.
In an effort to thwart Grindelwald’s plans, Albus Dumbledore (Law) enlists his former student Newt Scamander, who agrees to help, unaware of the dangers that lie ahead. Jon M. Chu’s Crazy Rich Asians gets a China release date
Crazy Rich Asians is headed to China. Per a report from Deadline, the smash hit romantic comedy will premiere in Chinese theaters starting November 30. Director Jon M. Chu’s film has grossed $171 million in North America and $57 million at the international box office so far.
The story follows native New Yorker Rachel Chu (Constance Wu) as she accompanies her longtime boyfriend, Nick Young (Henry Golding), to his best friend’s wedding in Singapore. Excited about visiting Asia for the first time but nervous about meeting Nick’s family, Rachel is unprepared to learn that Nick has neglected to mention a few key details about his life. It turns out that he is not only the scion of one of the country’s wealthiest families but also one of its most sought-after bachelors. Being on Nick’s arm puts a target on Rachel’s back, with jealous socialites and, worse, Nick’s own disapproving mother (Michelle Yeoh) taking aim. And it soon becomes clear that while money can’t buy love, it can definitely complicate things.

Jon M. Chu (Now You See Me 2) directed the contemporary romantic comedy, based on the acclaimed worldwide bestseller by Kevin Kwan. Color Force’s Nina Jacobson (The Hunger Games films) and Brad Simpson (World War Z), and Ivanhoe Pictures’ John Penotti (Hell or High Water) produced the film, with executive producers Tim Coddington, Kevin Kwan, Robert Friedland, and Sidney Kimmel serving as executive producers. The screenplay is by Peter Chiarelli and Adele Lim, based on the novel Crazy Rich Asians, by Kwan.
Crazy Rich Asians was filmed entirely on location in Singapore and Malaysia. It was released stateside on August 17.
Viggo Mortensen teams with HanWay Films for directorial debut
The Hollywood Reporter brings word that Oscar-nominated actor Viggo Mortensen has set the upcoming drama Falling with HanWay Films as his directorial debut.

The story, which was also written by and features Mortensen in one of the lead roles, follows John Petersen (Mortensen) as he invites his conservative father into his Los Angeles home while he searches for a place to retire. Their worlds collide as his father Willis comes to live with John and his partner Eric and their adopted daughter Monica.
Mortensen is joined in front of the camera by Golden Globe-nominated actor Lance Henriksen (Aliens, Millennium), who will play the role of Willis, as well as Sverrir Gudnason (The Girl in the Spider’s Web, Borg vs McEnroe), whose role in the film is currently unknown.
The film will be produced by Mortensen and Daniel Bekerman (The Witch) and HanWay Films will handle the international sales and distribution beginning at the American Film Market.
“The industry has always regarded Viggo as a really soulful artist. He is a talented photographer, poet, and musician,” HanWay managing director Gabrielle Stewart said. “His screenplay for Falling is a powerful, well-observed family drama. We are thrilled to be part of his promising and exciting directorial debut.”

The production will also include cinematographer Marcel Zyskind, who previously worked with Mortensen on The Two Faces of January in 2014, and production designer Carol Spier, a frequent collaborator of David Cronenberg on films including Videodrome and The Fly, as well as having previously worked with Mortensen on Eastern Promises and A History of Violence.
Mortensen can next be seen in the upcoming comedy-drama biopic Green Book alongside Mahershala Ali (Moonlight), which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival to rave reviews from critics, currently maintaining a 100% fresh rating from 22 critics on Rotten Tomatoes.
Venom leads box office with another $105 million globally
Columbia Pictures’ Venom maintained the #1 position at the global box office, bringing in $35.7 million domestically and another $69.7 million internationally for a global haul of $105.4 million. The Spider-Man less spin-off now sits at $142.8 million stateside with an international total of $235.3 million. Globally the film has brought in $378.1 million, and could become Sony’s highest grossing 2018 release. Directed by Ruben Fleischer, the film stars Tom Hardy, Riz Ahmed, and Michelle Williams. Venom is produced by Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach and Amy Pascal.
Warner Bros. Pictures’ A Star is Born held onto the second place position with another $28 million, dropping just 34.7% weekend to weekend. The film now sits at $94 million domestically with another $41.2 million from international markets. A Star is Born stars four-time Oscar nominee Bradley Cooper and multiple award-winning, Oscar-nominated music superstar Lady Gaga (as Stefani Germanotta), in her first leading role in a major motion picture. Cooper helms the drama, marking his directorial debut.
Universal Pictures‘ Oscar hopeful First Man opened in third place with $16.5 million. The film added $8.6 million from its early international releases to its domestic total for an estimated worldwide haul of $25.1 million globally. The debut marks director Damien Chazelle’s highest opening, but presents a red alert for the mid-sized budget movie (estimated to have a $60 million budget). Sony Pictures‘ Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween opened in fourth place just behind First Man with $16.225 million, a dip from the first film’s haul in 2015 which opened to $23.6 million. The family horror comedy is directed by Ari Sandel and stars Madison Iseman, Jeremy Ray Taylor, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Caleel Harris, with Chris Parnell, and Ken Jeong.
Warner Bros. animated adventure Smallfoot fell from third to fifth place, adding another $9.3 million to its total for a domestic haul of $57.6 million. The animated adventure added $14.5 million from international markets, giving it a worldwide total of $110.2 million. Smallfoot boasts an impressive voice cast, including Channing Tatum, James Corden, Zendaya, Common, LeBron James, Gina Rodriguez, Danny DeVito, Yara Shahidi, Ely Henry, and Jimmy Tatro.
Universal Pictures‘ Night School fell from fourth to sixth place, bringing in $8 million for a domestic total of $59.8 milion. The Kevin Hart comedy sits around the middle of his filmography and far from the likes of Ride Along or Central Intelligence. Directed by Malcolm D. Lee, Night School also stars Tiffany Haddish, Taran Killam, Rob Riggle, Romany Malco, and Ben Schwartz
20th Century Fox’s Bad Times at the El Royale opened in seventh place, bringing in $7.225 million. The Drew Goddard crime thriller opened to about half the director’s first feature, 2012’s The Cabin in the Woods, which debuted in third place with $14.7 million. The original feature stars Chris Hemsworth, Jon Hamm, Jeff Bridges, Dakota Johnson, Cynthia Erivo, Nick Offerman and Cailee Spaeny.

Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige previously confirmed the 2019 sequel will take Peter Parker out of New York for a European adventure in London that will reflect the global aftermath of Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers 4.
Holland previously confirmed a third film is also in the works. The follow-up will feature Tom Holland’s Peter Parker in his Junior year at Midtown School of Science and Technology following the events of 2018’s Avengers: Infinity War and its summer 2019 sequel, which will also feature Holland as Spider-Man.
Confirmed Spider-Man: Far From Home cast members include Tom Holland as your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man, plus Zendaya and Marisa Tomei as “MJ” and Aunt May. Jake Gyllenhaal will play Mysterio while Michael Keaton is set to return as Adrian Toomes/The Vulture. New additions include comedian J.B. Smoove and Numan Acar (Aladdin) as Dimitri. It was also reported that MCEU veterans Samuel L. Jackson (Captain Marvel) and Cobie Smulders have also signed on to join Holland’s Spider-Man sequel as Nick Fury and Maria Hill respectively.
Spider-Man: Far From Home is directed by Jon Watts and written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, all returning from Spider-Man: Homecoming. The movie will hit theaters on July 5, 2019.

A mere week after Chris Evans posted a heartfelt message bidding adieu to Captain America, the Russo Brothers have officially announced the end of the recent round of reshoots on Marvel’s highly anticipated Avengers 4. The directing duo also posted a mysterious new photo to go along with the announcement, which you can see (and try to decipher) in the official tweet below!
Avengers 4 reshoots started this last month to capture new footage, but also to finalize the potential ending for Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

This year’s Avengers: Infinity War saw the titular superhero team take the fight to Thanos in order to stop his quest of exterminating half of the universe’s population with the Infinity stones, but it was to no avail, as he was able to successfully collect them all and snap his fingers, wiping out half of everyone from existence in a cloud of ash, including Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan), King T’Challa/Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman), Groot (Vin Diesel), Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen), Sam Wilson/Falcon (Anthony Mackie), Mantis (Pom Klementief), Drax (Dave Bautista), Peter Quill/Star-Lord (Chris Pratt), Dr. Stephen Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), and Peter Parker/Spider-Man (Tom Holland), as well as Maria Hill (Cobie Smulders), Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), Hope van Dyne/Wasp (Evangeline Lily), Janet van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer) and Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson), though Fury was able to send a signal to what appears to be Captain Marvel (Brie Larson).

Details revealed for Crimes of Grindelwald soundtrack, two tracks released early
One of the best aspects of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them was its lush, majestic score composed by James Newton Howard. Luckily, the famed composer has returned for the sequel Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald andWaterTower Music is going all out for the soundtrack — and even released a couple of tracks early for streaming and purchase.

The Crimes of Grindelwald soundtrack will feature a whopping 25 tracks, all of which will be available for digital purchase on November 9. The CD will hit shelves on November 30, while the vinyl is scheduled to go out in January 2019. In addition to the score, the soundtrack will treat fans to three solo piano cues performed by James Newton Howard and not heard in the film: “Dumbledore’s Theme (Solo Piano)”, “Fantastic Beasts Theme (Solo Piano)” and “Leta’s Theme (Solo Piano).” Those three tracks are scheduled to be released October 26, 2018.
For those fans unable to wait, WaterTower has also released two tracks for early streaming and purchase titled “Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald” and “Salamander Eyes,” which you can listen to HERE. And just so you know, the music is quite fantastic, featuring lush, beautiful, choir-driven melodies reminiscent of Danny Elfman’s Edward Scissorhands and Howard’s own Maleficent.

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald is the second of five all-new adventures in J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World. The film stars Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamandar alongside returning stars Katherine Waterston, Dan Fogler, Alison Sudol, and Ezra Miller. They’re joined by Claudia Kim, Zoe Kravitz, Callum Turner, with Jude Law as Dumbledore and Johnny Depp as the titular Grindelwald.

At the end of the first film, the powerful Dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald (Depp) was captured by MACUSA (Magical Congress of the United States of America), with the help of Newt Scamander (Redmayne). But, making good on his threat, Grindelwald escaped custody and has set about gathering followers, most unsuspecting of his true agenda: to raise pure-blood wizards up to rule over all non-magical beings.
In an effort to thwart Grindelwald’s plans, Albus Dumbledore (Law) enlists his former student Newt Scamander, who agrees to help, unaware of the dangers that lie ahead. Lines are drawn as love and loyalty are tested, even among the truest friends and family, in an increasingly divided wizarding world.
Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald is being directed by David Yates, from a screenplay by J.K. Rowling, and produced by David Heyman, J.K. Rowling, Steve Kloves and Lionel Wigram. The film will debut in theaters on November 16, 2018
The marketing for Halloween is in full swing! Universal recently released a look at John Carpenter’s updated score, and now delivers an official clip from the film, via Bloody Disgusting. Jamie Lee Curtis returns to her iconic role as Laurie Strode, who comes to her final confrontation with Michael Myers, the masked figure who has haunted her since she narrowly escaped his killing spree on Halloween night four decades ago. Curtis is joined in the film by Judy Greer who plays Karen Strode, the daughter of Curtis’ character, and Andi Matichak (Orange Is the New Black, Underground) who plays Allyson, the granddaughter of Laurie Strode.

The upcoming sequel film will be ignoring the continuity of all of the sequels in favor of telling its own story. Curtis previously appeared in four films in the series, including the 1978 original, its 1981 sequel, 1998’s Halloween H20: 20 Years Later, and Resurrection.
Master of horror John Carpenter will executive produce and serve as creative consultant on this film, joining forces with cinema’s current leading producer of horror, Jason Blum (Get Out, Split, The Purge, Paranormal Activity). Inspired by Carpenter’s classic, filmmakers David Gordon Green and Danny McBride crafted a story that carves a new path from the events in the landmark 1978 film. Green also directs.

Joining the Thor Ragnarok co-stars is a large ensemble that features Rebecca Ferguson (Mission: Impossible Fallout), Emma Thompson (Sense and Sensibility, Howards End), Liam Neeson (Taken series), Kumail Nanjiani (Silicon Valley, The Big Sick) and Rafe Spall (The Big Short, Life of Pi). Production is already underway on the new film (see more set photos here).
The untitled Men in Black spinoff will not feature Will Smith or Tommy Lee Jones, but it will expand on the world of the original trilogy. This will be a different project from the aborted 21 Jump Street franchise mashup, MIB 23, which Jonah Hill admitted previously was “too complicated” in terms of the deals needed. That film remains in development, however.
The Men in Black spinoff film is set to be directed by F. Gary Gray (Straight Outta Compton, The Fate of the Furious) and is been written by Matt Holloway & Art Marcum (Iron Man, Transformers: The Last Knight). Original franchise producers Walter Parkes and Laurie MacDonald are back along with executive producer Steven Spielberg. Production is underway on the film in London.
Look for the new Men in Black movie to arrive in theaters on June 14, 2019.
